Heated IL Kaolin Flint

More odds and ends from the above frame. The left one is Brazilian agate. Middle is coastal plains from the landfill at Dothan AL, the one on the right is moss agate from MT.

Every once in a while the creek yields a really big piece of Kaolin. The place is no secret and it gets hunted a lot. I’m no good making big stuff so when I found a couple of big nods I called Woody Blackwell. He was up for working them if I could make bifaces and get them heated. I gave him the heated bifaces and he made me a Dickson and a Ross. The Ross is 8 3/4”. Woody is one of the top knappers in the country and did these rocks justice.
