unseen jet

That's a great video except that they're not positioned high enough to be able to look further to the horizon all around them. Fighter jets can whiz by at low altitude and you won't see them if there are too many obstructions. Hard to tell by the tunnel vision of that video just looking up at the sky above rooftops and trees.

The earlier video Jeff posted of the metallic sounds is just....I don't know if somebody doctored that video or what. But that is unlike any sound I've ever heard. I may poop myself if I heard that live.

Hi Folks

Monday (this week) 18th November, i was hunting in a forest, very strange sound rippled over my head at 3.30pm, like a jet fighter but more compact, lighter, more precise and narrow... i described it to a buddy as sounding like a big flag rippling in a fierce wind,,some sort of very unusual thunder or a meteor passing over... Anyway we have a rather large population of Red Kites, Buzzards and hawks, and they were all distressed after it, out swirling around and crying out... Was a strange moment,, had goose bumps, tingly feeling,, my dog was seriously interested in an area of sky as it happened, but i seen nothing, nothing at all.

The only time I heard a noise was on 9/11 and a few days after over NYC and they were fighter jets. They were so high you could barely see them and they were so loud. It was a scary noise when those are the only planes in the air. Just think a fighter jet is as long as a trailer on a tractor trailer and when they are 7000 feet in the air they will be tiny or barely seen.
Just wish I could fly in one!

just to weird, was on the phone fri. afternoon with a friend
in iowa, she asks can you hear that, im no. so she goes outside
and i can hear the metal screech sound and her neighbors ask
what is that sound. went on like 5min. in the quad cities area

Interesting that you mentioned a ripping noise. When I used to be at Ft. Sill (an Artillery base), they used to fire shells that went over the base to the impact range. When the shells flew overhead they made a sound like ripping paper. So I would associate that sound with an aerodynamic body flying close to the speed of sound, but without an engine noise.
