I think that was the sound of my retirement checked being sucked out of the bank by the people I owe!:laughing7:

that was time flying by, it gets faster and faster every year

back in june i heard noise like these, for about 5 minutes
old dude next door thought it was me making the noise
until he came out to see, he asked where it was coming
from, i told him in the sky

I Heard it tonight again, pretty Close to the same time.
Definitely not like that.

Used to be I'd hear as Jet Come & Go Would would last maybe
4 to 5 seconds to go over the House & Feel like the House was being Shook off the Foundation.

This took maybe 2 Seconds, More like 1 - 1 1/2 & if not for the Sound wouldn't have known it happened.

The Video on Post #4 above is what the Culm Plant sounds like occasionally.
Not sure if it's the Flame Firing up the Culm

Or it Cleaning itself out. But wasn't that either, That's to the Side, Not overhead

Do any of you have oil processing plants near you ? I have a Mobile oil plant 4 miles from my house, and when they open the stacks for release and burn off, that is what it sounds like, especially when the wind is blowing our direction. If it is in the evening, you can even see the ball of fire at the tops of the stacks. If it were a jet, eventually the sound would obviously "tail off". It has to be a stationary situation like the oil plant I'm referring to. Or it could be some other type of factory that would do a burn off from their stacks.

No only Westwood Co-Gen burning Coal Culm Here.
Can't even count on a Melt Down.

People have reported the Sound to 911 as an Airplane Crash when it first
went online ??? the Bright people they Aren't,
Thought a Crashed plane in the woods,
would sound like a Jetliner Flying overhead would :laughing7:

but even that sound is long and I Usually Hear it after a Quick Power Interruption.

& only hear that in the House when it is dead Silent

the Closest I Can explain what I heard was the 1 Second Woosh of each of these .
Not the Metalic Screech of the second half of Them.
Just the air type woosh.

The very last one at about 0.11 is the Closest

well Jeff, out of 134,986 Tnet Members, we are the only 2
to admit hearing strange sky noise should we be worried
LOL

I saw a skunk outside tonight. Does that count? Maybe St. Peter testing the gates...

well Hold off on the Straight Jacket, They seem to have Moved on :coffee2:

those gates need gallons of wd40 the little spray can
just aint gonna do it

Glens falls is in an area where jet fighters practice.

Most likely a jet fighter. I hear similar sounds when they practice nearby. Sometimes it’s just a couple seconds of sound.
