Hello, can anyone help identify this headstamp? I usually find 50 cal casings from the 40s at this site but this seems older maybe (and smaller)

Thanks but not likely as new no longer an area for shooting for at least 50 years,
I have to ask why-"not likely"?
The casing isn't new-the end is showing years of being buried. The head stamp is starting to fade (corrosion)
50 yrs is nothing really
Dug shell casing that were over 120yrs old, and could still hear the grains of black powder inside.
Dug some that were -50yrs old and totally eaten right to the head stamp

That’s what I meant I think it’s at least 50 years old because there has been no hunting or military activity in the location. Most of the items I find in this spot are from WW2 but I was not sure if the 04 meant 1904 and the only thing I can see related to lake city I believe is 1941 and later…. Thanks!

2004 not 1904
Reason for this is that head stamp has the Nato Specs. (which formed in 1949) so it possible a person dropped it later in the area. (Kid at school) type of thing. I brought many casings to many different areas to show them off.
Gee what's that doing here?
Have a look at hte screen shot of what I am saying.

Adam, these guys know what they are talking about. Your shell was made in 2004, no doubt about it. One thing you will find is that you will find all kinds of objects where you might not expect them to be.
