After very limited success lately I went with a new game plan and it went well.

Pic 1... The Junkets

Pic 2... What a tease, swore I had silver in the hole but is not. 1790s French but not silver. >:(

Pic (s) 3... Interesting brass plate. Also had me going, was a day to tease the ole Iron Patch I guess. :D

Pic 4... 1700s Navy button

Pic 5... He settled on a small hill, on a creek, about 1786 .. and I found his button! ;D ;D ;D American Revolution, Loyalist King's American Regiment early pattern (1776-1781) Officer coat button. I thought it was completely gone when first found but am pleased I can at least read most words. It was a pretty good day.

very nice old finds. Is Kings American someone that
was loyal to England during the revolutionary war?

Whoa!!!! :o

Very nice finds there, Iron Man!!
Love that Loyalist King's American Regiment button!!

That coin in your second pic...what is it made of? With the lighting in the pic, it looks like it has a silver edge.

Fantastic!

Curbdigger,
Where in Colorado are you digging?
The really old stuff is here, Just have to look in the right place.
Most is a lot earlier than Revolutionary war but what the heck ...right?

I'm talking about Spanish relics that go clear back 300 years.
Just hunt the right places.

Great lot!!!

Not sure, would have to look into it. It is definitely not your typical early coin metal because this isn't the first time we've been fooled. About 5 years ago my hunting bud finally thought he had hit an 8 reale after about 11 years of looking. Turned out to be a French 2 Sol. (big coin) and looked like mine.

Sure was a tease, I knocked it loose with my probe and could see the silver color through the dirt that was still covering most of it. The sound wasn't quite sweet enough for silver but you don't think of that until after the fact.

WOW.....Never seen a button like that. Congrats on the finds. Hammer that place good. Hogge

hahahaha pretty scary to think that's the image people will probably always have of me on this forum. But then again it might keep them in check, i wouldn't want that guy coming after me. :-X
