There is alot of cable around the world.They have laid a lot of fiber optic.in the past few years.

yeah a couple years ago they laid fiber optic through the whole town i live in, tookem about 6 months to do it. wouldnt have taken so long but they kept hitting water lines and electric cables underground, that and there are only about 3500 people in my town.

15-17 years ago, a winch was built. 302 small block to power it..1 inch steel cable.. permission from phone company...I think a few miles of underground copper as in the above in conduit..small fortune back then.. 2-3 inch cable if I remember it right...
