Time out, everybody, and ponder this--this thread is about the "23 executive orders"--They are UNAVAILABLE for the public to read. What is being presented is a "fact sheet" or "talking points", as they are known. they are a spin on whatever the actual executive orders may be. go ahead, google it. If anyone can find the actual texts of the executive orders, please provide the link.
I agree and would like to see the small print myself.

I guess you guys are right. President Obama signed memorandums, not orders.

But for some reason, I kept reading that after the Vice Presidents commission met and promoted those 23 items, everyones guns were going to be taken and no one would
be able to buy large cap magazines or assault style rifles.

What happened? Did everyone wake up and realize that ain't gonna happen?:icon_scratch:??? This is getting very confusing. Are our guns going to be confiscated by this administration or not??

Stockpicker,

Well thought out post......I drug my butt off to work for 35 years and trust me there were days when it was the last thing I wanted to do.....but I did.....because I'm hard headed and proud as you may very well have figure out by now....lol.

That said as much as it burns my butt to see people who are capable of working getting a free ride....there are people out there because of mental or physical issues just can't or don't have the ability to provide for themselves.....

My heart goes out to them and don't mind subsidizing them.....as for the deadbeats either we cross subsidize them via social programs or put bars and locks on every door and windows on our houses to keep them from stealing for a living.....just the cost we pay of trying to keep society from turning into complete chaos.....

ps.....btw I'm one of those grouchy old guys you had mentioned in an earlier post.....but still have a bit of fire in the gut and rebellious to boot....lol.

Regards + HH

Bill

Hitler communist - I hope your joking?? That is just hugely factually incorrect - he was a huge anticommunist. You obviously have never studied anything about WWII ? Hitler and the nazi party were huge anti communists and wiped the communist party in Germany (which was very strong prior to WWII) off the map. He put communists right up with the poor Jewish people on his hate list.

Similar to FDR in the US, hitler instituted a number of social programs as Germany was in the middle of a depression worse than the US. It was not any more socialist than any other country and private companies like Mercedes, Volkswagen, Messerschmitt, Krupp, IG Faben were incredibly powerful in the country.

Any country that regulates businesses and has some means of wealth redistribution through social programs can be said to be socialist. Every country in the world is "socialist" to one degree or another. The question is how much, not if they are or not.

I've made my living in about the most capitalist industry out there - the stock market. And even I believe that some oversight of business is neccesary and that some type of social safety net is a good thing. I would be very surprised to hear that anyone would disagree.

better than waiting and seeing, I'm willing to lay odds it doesn't happen.

btw, help a brother out and send me those winning powerball ticket numbers, k?

Either subsidize or bars and locks? How about cut the gravy train and actually penalize them for any crimes they do......
Why roll over and cower (keep giving undeserved benifits)?
