hardtime's I think?

I was working on cleaning up an old house A friend bought today and found this coin.Well I thought it was a coin its the size of a penny it has an indian princess on one side and a shield on the other it says union forever and the date is 1864

It's a Civil War token. It looks like a patrotic token rather then a store card.
Very nice find!

Nice civil war token. Is it a store card. Those are neat to find. Looks to be in great shape. How was it found. With a MD or were you working on the place.

I wish it was with my detector.we were hauling out cardboard boxes of junk (so we thought it was)was looking around in one of the boxes I happened to see an older looking shoe polish can picked it up and heard A little rattle!!!opened it up and my first thought was it is a fake or play indian head penny

HI ! Haupin nice to see you again too!I got a promotion with my job early this fall and have been traveling out of town a bit.hard to find time to get out anymore.let alone when I did get out did'nt find anything.but it's nice to be back with something to show.just wish I found it with my detector.this house that my friend bought is fairly old.I'd say early 1900's plus the old owner was an elderly gentleman that had to be placed in a rest home.He was for sure a packrat.I'll search alot more closely at things from here on out!I'll keep you posted.
