Hi all, Gary and I got out to our Happy Trails site today. Before we went there we stopped at an old one room School house and did some hunting. I only found a 1905 V-Nickel and Gary found a Gold Baby Ring and a 1916 Barber Dime.

Then we hit the Happy Trails site. This site is still giving up good finds. They are a little harder to find, but the coins are still coming out of the ground.

Gary found 3 Washington Quarters 1941, 1943, 1957, 2 Mercury dimes 1943, 1945, 2 Roosevelt dimes, both 1963 D's, 5 nickels '41, '41 '47, '48, '57, 12 Wheat penny's and a Whistle.

I found 1 Washington Quarter 1942, 3 Mercury dimes '41, '43, '44, 3 Roosevelt dimes '54 D, '61 D, '64 D,
2 Buffalo nickles no dates 2 nickles '41 & 54 and 14 Wheat penny's.

We really had a great start for the new year. A funny thing happened again, I told Gary let's head for the car and Bang!, Gary pulls up a silver Quarter and I pulled up a Silver dime. We hunted some more and I said, lets hear for the car and Bang!, we each pulled up a silver dime apiece. I love this hobby.

Hope you all have a great Detecting New Year. HH, Ringfinder

Excellent! How do you identify likely spots in the woods? I have found several signs of old homesites but always come up empty. Is it luck, perserverance or both? Monty

Very nice haul on the silver..

That ring is really nice, prolly a nice story behind it..

Keep at it..

But heck, I got a new coil for my ACE 250 with the clad coins I found and had enough money left over to take my wife out for a real nice dinner!

I did the samething with my clad..Bought a new coil for the DFX and had a great dinner.

Thats pretty cool . Do you know what date your going to be at the museum ? I go there alot and will deffinitely go to your seminar . They usually put on some good ones . Always interesting . Let me know . Thanks for the tips .

Yes Jason, the date is July 12th at 7:00 P.M. Hope to see you there, bring your detector. LOL We are supposed to give a
demonsration after the tea. Should be interesting.

We gave a talk this past year to our Eagle Creek Historical Society and some of the members wanted to try there luck detecting, so we took 4 or 5 extra detectors with us so they could try there luck. My partner threw a hand full of pennies up in the air and off they went. Two members bought detectors. One of the members who bought his first detector is 84 years young.

Well hope to see you at the Wood Co. Museum in July, make yourself known. HH, Ringfinder
