handgun ID - only found the handle

Need an image. By "solid metal" do you mean one solid block of metal or metal frame with holes or hollows that woor grios would have covered?

As far as I know there is no centerfire pistol or revolver that has a full solid metal grip. It's either used to house a magazine or the hammer spring. Earlier flintlock or percussion maybe, but all metal is rare. Scottish pistols used a brass grip.

But, if you have something that has the grip panels cast right in the grip I'd say 95% chance it is a toy pistol.

There's a gozillion bits of metal in the soil. Sometimes someone recognizes a bit and sometimes not.
