Now, all of you who came in here expecting to see "April Fools!".
I'll have to ask you to vacate the premises. For if you think ole Whadifind would ever stoop so
low as to make a gauche and obvious joke at this late time on an April 1st, then you don't know me and you'll have to leave.

Anyone still there??

;)

Well, everything in the title was true. Don't believe me? Here's the overall:

IMGA3186.JPGIMGA3187.JPG
This one was the April fools joke the my AT-Pro played on me today. :)

IMGA3188.JPG

A whole handful of wheat cents today! Just about the most I've ever found in one day!

IMGA3194.JPG

Not sure about this one. Appears to be a solid bar of brass or copper. Not cut off, seems to be made this way. About 2 ounces whatever it turns out to be.

IMGA3191.JPGIMGA3192.JPG

Silver coin, (as said).

IMGA3190.JPG

And ring #4,254 turns out to be a very pretty .925. (nope, it's true, that's my career total. :) )

Welp, thanks for visiting but it's that time again.

My ride is here.

Thanks & HH!

Cool finds.that turtle ring is sweet. That play money has got some old dates on it,recon its that old?

Oh I sincerely doubt it's that old. LOL I don't think they had aluminum back then, did they? ;)

IMGA3196.JPGIMGA3197.JPG

But, ya know, I wonder how old it is, because it's constructed fairly well and stood being in the ground pretty well. Must've been lost soon after it was "minted". LOL

Thanks!

Great finds. Love the car. Nice ring. Happy hunting.

I kind of like this one myself. Wish I had a real Spyder Concept. LOL

I might need to study up on what old cars like this are going for these days.
Thanks!

Ring #4,254???????????? THAT is quite an accomplishment! Congrats! Love your finds and how you share the details.. Thanks!

Yeah, that's a LOT of digging over the years! But, I don't really do it to compete. It's more to show that telling everyone what ring, silver coin, indian head the current one is in your own record, really has no real good purpose. Unless, maybe, the point is to show off or to make someone else feel inadequate. :dontknow:

Glad you like the posts, I do try to make them fun to read. :)

NICE STUFF ,Congratz on the ring total I could not keep trac after 50 or so , which is above my md total.

I know. I just made a mark in a book one each one. Not to compete but rather as a curiosity. I had NO idea!!! LOL

That number is just that, a number, but if you expand it to how many holes were dug over the years to find them, it's no wonder the Earth's axis wobbles a bit nowadays. ;)

how old is your groundhog? I still use mine from 1983. Do you keep all your rings? Do you like the ATPRO? Bob.

Mine is from about 1970's. It still works. The meter is long gone, but I never used it anyway. Trained my ear to hear the differences.

When I decided to do this full time, I figured there just might be some advancements in the technology in the last 35 years or so. ;) So, after trying several of my friend's detectors, I decided on the AT-Pro. Each had their own pluses & minuses but the AT best suited to what I figured to be doing most of the time. I have been GREATLY pleased and impressed by what this little machine is capable of doing.

Everyone needs to decide for themselves though. Their own ground make up, beach or soil, mineralization, type of terrain, etc. They ALL need to play into the decision. Not just because someone, somewhere is finding good stuff and they use XYZ detector. Once decided though, LEARN your machine! Work at it diligently to know what it's telling you. It makes all the difference.

Oh, and no I don't have all those rings. Actually, it's why I stopped looking for a long time. It just broke my heart that I HAD to sell the things I found in order to survive and feed a large family. Especially now, that I've been pretty much abandoned by everyone. That's why I started back up too. NOW, I am going to keep EVERYTHING I FIND!!! I'm closer to the finish line than the start these days. But, I'm going out with my very own treasure chest! LOL What they do with it after I'm gone, who cares. :dontknow: :)

Thanks!

4254 rings?! How long have you been detecting? How many of those were gold, silver, etc...? That's quite the career mark.

Oh heck! I couldn't tell you. Just that many tick marks in my book. I DO remember my first one though! I was trying out beach hunting waaaaay back then and after scooping for what seemed like hours! There, perched on top of the sand in my scoop was a nicely wide gold band!! I was beside myself!! I ran over to my friend to show off and when I got there and plucked it out of the scoop, there, on the flip side, was a BEAUTIFUL Tiffany set 1/4 carat diamond!!! Talk about being hooked!!! LOL I was OBSESSED with ring hunting for YEARS!!!

Thanks!

I found ring # 5 yesterday laying in the mud. It was an Army ring like those that one orders after leaving boot camp. I have a similar Marine Corps ring from when I left boot camp. This thing is pretty deteriorated and I don't think there is any real good metal on it. rings #5 (All junk). That's my total. HAHA Congrats on all the finds over the years. Give me a goal to strive for!

I started with one also. BUT, I became absolutely OBSESSED with finding rings for a long time! I would never wish THAT part of it on anyone. :) Still, since you know how many you have makes it easier to start counting. I would start a diary. It'll make good reading one day. If not that, then just do what I did, take a notebook and simply make a tick mark every time you find one. If you're interested in knowing that is, (still obsessed) LOL.

Thanks
HH!

HAHA play money on April Fools, now that is perfect... I love it... and I think the ring is adorable... Where did you fiind this stuff.. a beach, field?

Actually, this was another school yard where I did some extrapolating about where things were years ago, instead of where they were today. It's paying off. I think. ;)

I really like this little ring too. Here he is all cleaned up.
