Hand forged scissors

Found these scissors at my colonial site. They look hand forged, especially the handle. Is it hand forged?

Probably hand forged. What would be the alternative? Forged by . . . ? Hinged scissors were almost unkown until the time of the French & Indian War (one-piece shears were the norm). Possibly yours are very early and of the colonial era.
