One of the last days detecting for the winter season on a farm close by. Nice spring weather, sunny, not too warm and good company made it a perfect day.
Second signal today was a ca. 13th C. hammered penny, too bad to ID but still made my day. It was the kiss of death for me as the finds dried up like the soil on the field.

Shell applique, roman fibula bow, roman hairpin. The hairpin has a square top with remains of a silver capping and was a beautiful piece before destroyed by the plough. :crybaby2:

Yeap, our Winter season has been unexpectedly extended with this newly disced up field. No idea what crop they are putting in, but we suspect it must be a massive bird cover/meadow mix?? Happy to get the break we needed.
Do you have any grass options?

With the good soil here there is very little pasture. Beside that we are only allowed to dig pasture when it is temporary (Grass land in the crop rotation). I still have one site in the woods i'm allowed to dig and a break to recover and start hot again is not the worst. :occasion14:

Very nice hunt! :icon_thumleft:

Nice finds buddy. :occasion14:

Good to see you're still finding good stuff Lu. Is that a pipe in the upper right corner of the 3rd pic.? Good luck.

We still have some fields but fields with sites are scarce.
Yes, the lower part of the bowl.

Ok, so you have options with no sites, so its time to pick the best one, grid it & hope for the best.

I think that pipe might be called a "tavern piepe". Found one like it a little while back! Very cool!

Thats a plan. I try and hope for gold! There is always a chance for gold in random fields! :occasion14:

Don't know if they have a special name here, but tavern pipe sounds about rigth. Pipes of this size are not the ones you like to carry around.

Really cool finds hope your field produces some gold for ya. Awesome post Thanks for always sharing those with us Amazing
