I was short a roll once from a good producing bank. I just chalked it up as a hobby expense.

I guess I am a little confused. If the box was still sealed, how did you know it was missing a roll?

I dumped 2day & had the exact total 1760 come up on the 4 reciepts totals as had put in, was amazed too. :o

how did you know a roll was missing if the box was sealed?

Yea I would like to know that too, how can you tell?

I have learned to verify the box content while in the presence of the teller. I tell her that I am verifying the contents and that I would like her to witness so there is no misunderstang or denying the count. This takes just a few seconds. I don't have to tell them that anymore because it is routine now, so they simply wait for me to do my thing, and when all's well, I say "all here" see ya next week.

Since I started doing this I was twice shorted and they were able to take care of it (reimburse) but they were very uneasy with it bacause it means paperwork and an unusual task for them.

all my loomis boxes have holes in the top of them and you can see the rolls.

The boxes I get are completely sealed with no holes at all.

I've seen boxes with holes, most boxes I get are brinks, they never have holes

I've never been shorted a whole roll. Had many short rolls in boxes but I am able to bag dump so I don't even care if it is short. I dump them back in the bag and deposit it as I got it. I add coins for any I take out to the bag and give them approximately $1000 in each bag. Never had them pull any from my account for being short so I'm guessing they are close enough for them.

sorry...i prob. should have said that, i get the long, flat, loomis boxes, that have holes in the top...in fact, i dont think any bank in my area has otherwise...my bad. keep it up and hh!

I also get the flat boxes with holes. If I'm in doubt, I open the box in front of the teller and tell them "I'm just making sure everybody is home"

I had on box once that was 7 rolls short! The bank would not let me have it. The next week there was a new vault teller. Hmmm?
