CKK (Chris / Kyle / Kirk) got out to a new site today. The copper skunk mobile was running on all cylinders due to the lack of the round green discs. We did manage to find a small area that had action at one time. Pewter spoon parts and such in abundance. Not much else in the 1700s era. We were working our way back to the skunk mobiles and detected the vanished barn area of an old 1700's house that adjoins the pasture. Managed to find this half of a two piece belt buckle with a nice wreath on it. Not sure about it but is probably mid 1800's by the look of it. Maybe someone out in tnet land can ID it. Maybe it's the missing part of Modern Miners North Carolina belt buckle. :laughing7:
Thanks for looking.
Chris

That is still a way cool wreath.I guess there are several variants of tongues that may go with it.If it was at a homestead the chances of the tongue being there are strong.Great piece and my favorite relic!!

Yeah there are several tongues that can go to that wreath. I think they are mostly fire departments but also one can have WG for Washington Grays.

Not a good copper, but those marked early bells are pretty scarce finds. Getting two keepers with limited digging is a pretty good day.

Nice one Chris :icon_thumright:

Nice finds,

That is a great buckle and bell.

Does that "HB",on that bell stand for Hudsons Bay??

WOW! Thats an absolutely AWESOME find Chris! It is indeed a Wreath to a 2 piece Tongue and Wreath buckle....

An awesome sword buckle, Chris :headbang: I hope you will find a tongue for it or something that will help you to date it properly. Not so long ago, I found a wreath of the 1850's and was told here on the forum that it wasn't military. However, when I came back and looked nearby, I undug a convict guard's button. So I believe it's a military type of buckles after all.

Skunkmobile ??? :laughing1: nuthin' stinks about those finds .intact bell and cool buckle are a good smelling day ..

It stands for Hill Billy lol. Nice Crotal bell Zues.
That buckle is sweet too.

Having two nice pieces like that from a hunt is really good. :icon_thumright:
