Any recommendations on how to remove the encrusted dirt from the coin without compromising value/condition?

Take some peroxide and pour a 1/2 cup into a plastic or glass bowl, microwave it til it's boiling pull it out put it on the counter and drop the coin in it I usually let them sit until they stop bubbling
 

Thanks, i actually just got done reading an article about that. Im gonna have to give it a try
