Not that often we get a day in late January that is 50 degrees so I took the Beast for a spin. I went to one of our hunted to death spots and good finds were few and far between. I did manage a couple buttons, some lead and half of a spur. It looks like it was plated at one time and seems awfully small. Maybe it was for a kid or a lady, don't know. The four hole button and the small key were found at the same site on a previous hunt. Thanks for looking. IMG_20170115_143528614.jpgIMG_20170115_143545171.jpgIMG_20170115_143601277.jpg

I'd like to know too. My oldest coin from this site was 1800 but I think this is more modern. Maybe someone will school me.

Hey sutphin, were you been Bud? Thanks but I don't think it is a nut. Seems to be some type of hook. The hole has no threads but it is definitely hand forged. We find a lot of hand forged items on this site. Resarch suggest that they used to build wagons here.

Congrats on getting the beast back out and getting some detecting in rn. :occasion14: Looks like it may breath some life into your older sites that you've pounded in the past.

Thanks LD, and you are right. But I need to get off my butt and find some new ground.

Same here, I am just hitting one honey hole cleaning up clad hoping for a keeper or 2 or else I re-hunt old permissions using the sniper coil seeing if I can eke out a few more finds. I will work on new permissions this spring. I hate to line them up now and then hope they do not change their minds when the ground thaws.
