Your find was overshadowed by your ugly language, such a shame and what a sorry excuse!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but as far as your comment about the kids viewing the video, I truely believe that they (the kids) hear much, much worse language from their friends, school mates and companions on a daily basis than what was uttered on Swed's video.
The ring is a very nice find Swed and Well done. Gold Nuggets :hello:

Your kids might! we have the choice to make the world better or worse, sounds like you have made your choice!

Hey Swed.. BIG Congrats! :hello2: :hello2: :hello2:

That's a heck of a nice ring and a beauty for your FIRST!

If you were not hooked before I think you are now. Right?

Don't let anyone knock down that find based on your language...#1: English is not your first language...#2 It was in the heat of the moment and very understandable to me.

You might edit you first post to put on a disclaimer that your video has strong language and "sensitive" people need to turn down the volume.

Great ring find and a great video. I was a little surprised when i heard "the word" but since it wasn't cursed at another person I overlooked it. I have heard "the word" before and several times directed at me personaly. Just a part of life but I would avoid it in general forum.
Good luck in your future hunts and look forward to veiwing your post and videos.

Whoa! Chocadog! Do you allow your kids out in public? It's not what they see or hear it's how they interpret it, and you as a parent should be the one explaining this to them. It's can be a brutal world sometimes and you coddling your children is not going to help them with reality.
That said....
Excellent find Swed! Sorry to hijack your thread a little.
Hopefully a lot more to come :icon_thumleft:

Yes Mile-ender, I am afraid that it is my grandchildren that are now my concern and they do go out in public. Once again though, if we continue to support the obscene language we become a part of a growing problem, as opposed to creating a more educated civilized world. The English language has sufficeint adjectives that the filthy language that you support is unnecessary.

I have never laughed so much watching a video, great find, great post.... great accent. I dont have a metal detector yet, but It is on my list now for sure, I have been thinking about it for a while. this post motivates me, I love how excited you got when you found that. Good luck on more great finds.

Well, it looks to me like Chocadog knows how to ruin a party. Actually, I'm more offended by his (her?) rude interruption of this thread with his (her?) lecture on morality according to Chocadog. His (her?) comments are about as welcome as a pair of Latter Day Saints at my door step at 8:00AM on a Sunday morning.

Now, back to the subject of the thread (rude deviations are usually frowned on by forum moderators):

Great find, Swed! The age of that ring qualifies it as an antique. An 18k antique gold ring in that condition is probably quite valuable. You should have it appraised. If you do, please let us know what its appraised value is. However, if it fits your fiancé, I doubt it will ever leave her finger. I have some experience with this with my wife....

Chocadog, if you have any comments on my observation, please do us all a favor…keep them to yourself…we’re not interested…it really has nothing to do with this thread….next time your morality raises its prickly hackles, please just PM the offending party and leave everyone else out of it…and please don't PM me...

8 am on a Sunday?? Not LDS, probably JW's. Now on language: A little bit of class can only make the world a nicer place. A little bit from everyone.........well, can't hurt. And on the ring: I would have guessed a little older than 1955, but ok, that is cool. One hint on stones, never use the color first off. There are a huge range of topazes in blue from barely blue to end-of-the-world dark blue, and almost the same range in aquas, although the dark doesn't happen often. Aquas have a different look from topaz, perhaps it is double refractive, but I haven't totally studied everything. And I cheat and use a gem tester. I don't think that they learned how to radiate topazes to blue them until the mid 60's, so maybe late for this ring, unless they reset the stone with a new one. My fall back guess: Perhaps a man made spinel. Good looking stone, very durable. But I hope that it is a aqua. The stone would be worth more than the ring. Even at astounding gold prices. My guess for the location: bad breakup. Burying bad karma. Not a good idea. But a happier possibility: lost in the throes of passion.

Your language is NOT acceptable, young people are encouraged to read this web sight. That kind of language may be acceptable in a country like yours but it is not in the United States. Your language does nothing to enhance our hobby!

Soooooo you have never spoken a descriptive word!! If not you threw the first stone! If your kids are on the internet, then they have already learned what the "F" word means! Doesn't make it right or wrong! It's the way it is and you can't control it! It's a dog eat dog world and not 1950 any more! Teach your kids everything and they will be better armed to survive and make positive choices in their life!

Swed great find!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO VIKKINGS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :icon_pirat:

Great Video, Swed! Great find! Beautiful first gold ring (18k!) and big stone! You don't pull them like that very often. :headbang:
