I hit north beach in Corpus Saturday with my brother a little after noon to chase low tide. The water was so rough I got bruises and lost lots of targets by getting slammed around and then as fast as I could scoop it would fill in. I managed a cell phone, a little clad and sunglasses. A young guy and his wife approached me and asked if I found any rings, I told him no. He said he lost his white gold wedding band yesterday with the inscription I Love You in it. I asked him where he lost it and he pointed out anywhere in a 2 mile area both water and sand. I got his info in case my brother or I ran across it. I wanted to hit this beach when the water was calm so that means early the next day before sunrise. Dang it about killed me to get up that early and my poor brother had to work that evening but I drug his tired ass along anyhow. Well the water was a little choppy but workable. I pulled out tons of clad and then at the end a case pocket knife. I knew I had to get going to get my brother back in time to get ready for work, so I walked the wet sand really fast going back and hit a target. Scooped, checked the whol, knew I had it in the scoop, imagine my surprise when a gold band was staring back at me. I thought great now I gotta return it, I checked it several times and so did my brother and no inscription in it. YEAH so I got a keeper.

I try to hunt waist or chest deep but lots of times there I am forced to hunt knee deep and still take a beating. Luck was with me that day and I found the ring in the wet sand. I have a mid size scoop the one in the first pic but the basket wasn't as large as I would like and then hunting deeper water I needed a longer handle. This is the scoop I got and its a little on the heavy side but its working out great for me.

Dawn...that scoop at the bottom (your latest?) looks nice....where did you get it and what was the price? (If you don't mind me asking ;D)

Did ya have any luck after Dolly hit down there?

yeah the scoop at the bottom is my latest. I got it at rtgstore for $140 I believe its overall 48"
I never got to hunt after Dolly with road and island closures, by the time it was open it had sanded back in.
I will be out there next weekend though maybe I will have some luck
