Saturday I was packing my gear in the car to go detecting when my neighbor strolls by walking his dog. He invited me metal detect his yard, so I thought why not, a walk up the street beats driving 50 miles round trip to where I was planning to go. Besides, he lives in a large yellow brick house that was probably built around 1920 and it has lots of yard around it. There has to be some silver in that yard, right? Well 3 1/2 hours and 40 coins later, I finally got a 1960 Roosevelt dime. I dug 36 pennies, 23 of them wheat ears, including 1912, 1914, and 1916. Here is the take from his yard, and I still haven't even detected one of the side yards.

My favorite find was this locket. I didn't notice the stone was missing until I got home and cleaned it, or I would have tried to find it in the dirt.

Sunday I got out with PA Dirt_NC sand to a farm field where I got an 1818 large cent and 1884 seated dime last time. But no such luck this time, I only came away with 4 buttons and a suspender clip. But ironically, one of the buttons has a heart on it to go along with my heart shaped locket from the day before.
