Recent Digs... Got out in an old camp I've hunted over the years and tried out the Garrett AT Gold with the 5x8 loop. That's what HomeGuardDan's been using in his colonial homesites. KILLER! I couldn't believe how much I (and tons of other people) have walked over in the past. The target separation was phenomenal. This is a winter camp so is iron infested. I'll be back!

I also found what I believe to be a pewter mouthpiece to a bugle or other instrument. It's in the main picture and also in the center of the picture below. Any of you ever dug a pewter one?

Great Finds... What program do you hunt in and what do you have your iron audio at? Going out to hunt a CW battle site at the end of the month and would be very happy to find even half of what you did.

I think you may have posted in the wrong forum. I did not ask "what is it?", I asked if anyone had found a pewter bugle/instrument mouthpiece. Perhaps you mean well, but there is a forum or PM for that. If you would like to enlighten us about this "piece", I'll post it over in "What Is It?". Your call....

well Beu,as you may have noticed on here folks dont seem to pay attention to where they post, and I merely try to assist folks in correctly id'ing what they may have. This is an open discussion forum and I apologize If I insulted your "story",if you want it to be George Washingons hearing aid so be it.....dooley noted in the future do no assist Aqua Chigger.I guess along with learning what items are,one learns a lot about peoples ego's :icon_thumright:

Okay... I'll post it up over on the "What is it?" forum where this belongs per your request. If it's a candlestick holder like you insist, I'd like to know.

Thanks. I keep the iron audio off and on this hunt since I was not interested in iron, kept the disc at 29. I may have heard more with lower disc, but it was a sea of small iron nails and very annoying when lower.

Some real nice finds there AC, you have a piece that looks like a musket ball game piece at the top of the pic. Is it made from lead?
ZDD

I think you may be looking a blob of melted lead (if it's at the very top).
