It's about time we drag our Canadian friends into this discussion - no longer passive observers!!
Backbacon said:You obviously don't know your history very well do you?
Backbacon said:Here we scrapped the long gun registration and the rifles that were confiscated in the news clip were reclassified as restricted weapons. Here in Canada we need a special non-restricted license for our hand guns and full autos and for semi autos with a magazine that will hold more than 4 shots. I like the way it is here so not every idiot with a gun license can just go and buy a hand gun and automatic weapon then just go shoot some place up. The reported in the clip was wrong when he said shotguns were confiscated because that never happened here. 0121stockpicker your statement about us being pasive observers is offensive and I suggest you do some research on the subject before you go and label my country like that. Lesson 1. The US were passive observers during WW2 and watched as thousands of innocent people lost their lives over in Europe. Lesson 2. The US only entered WW2 because it was attacked by the Japanese.
Again, you completely missed my point. The statement was not a comment to all Canadians it was to a poster that hangs out on our second amendment threads. Relax chief. No one offending the Canadians. I'm retired at 40 because I should my firm to Canadians. No problem with them at all.
If an attempt at confiscation happened here in the US, I would hope all Gun owners\
who have opinions in forums like this,
would show up at the door of the place they start with.
ending any future attempts right there.
People claim they would protect their neighbors house from a Kid with a flashlight & a mask.
They should be just as quick to protect that neighbor, from a bunch of thieves with
ATF on their backs Correct ?
I agree with you, but I would not shoot either one. That is theoretically, I don't actually own a gun. So maybe I should say: I agree with you, but I would not decapitate either one with my samurai sword.

Just another good argument in favor of the second amendment......I would hope the same thing too if I lived south of the border but don't believe that for a minute. How often do you see people help each other over there these days? At a time of crisis the survival of the fittest mentality would come out because of the way fear has been constantly been instilled in the US public. If you don't believe me on that ask yourself what happens when the power goes out in major city centers down there. Your not looking at people helping on another unless it's helping each other loot a store. Notice none of that happened in Japan during their nuclear crisis recently? Even here in Canada the last riot that I can remember happened over a hockey game. I can see rural folk helping each other during a crisis but in urban areas it would be total uncivilized chaos.

Treasure_Hunter said:You are so wrong. We went through 4 hurricanes here in 2004, were with out power and water for days and we were helping each other with water, food and removing down trees from neighbors yards
Treasure_Hunter said:Sure say Katrina, for every case of looting you had neighbors helping neighbors...... The Liberal media want report that, they sell more news reporting the looting which will happen in every single natural disaster...... In fact that is why citizens need guns, to be able to protect their property and lives and familes in times of disaster.......
Why in the LA riots of 1992 were so many of the Korean stores able to survive when so many others were looted and or burned....... It is because they were able to defend them with the very weapons the Left is wanting to take away from the citizens now....
