GUESS WHAT OMG OMG

Well done fingers crossed no one has hunted there before WITHOUT permission lol

Don't give to much away with the land pics or you'll need to join the back of the queue :'( :'( :'(

A further word of advice...

Since this site is PRIVATELY owned, and the girl that lives there will be hunting with you...don't get so "into it" that you skunk her really badly! Make sure you give her lots of help! It'll slow you down, sure, but be prepared for it. If you come in and make some great finds and she gets skunked, you may not be allowed to return! So take your time and make sure she has fun--so that she'll say "yes" for your return trip.

Regards,

Buckleboy

I just hope the owner leaves you alone and doesn't follow you around to see what you're finding.

Yeah, those landowners drive me NUTS!!! But I deal with them by pulling my spare machine out of the truck with my spare digging tools, give them a crash course on how to use it and how to pinpoint/recover then turn 'em loose. Then they usually make the find of the day. One guy actually got into it pretty good, bought my hunting partner's spare machines, and is now OUR hunting partner.

Now, there's a worse one than that....that'll be the landowner who follows you around and CLAIMS all of your goodies. You gotta give it to them, it's their land after all.

In their case, I just fake detector troubles or claim dead batteries and go find someplace else to hunt.

Good luck booty!!!

Bootybay...So you are telling me that the Yankees had slaves too? Good Luck!

sadly the fact is that slavery was LEGAL a lot longer under the united states flag than the rebel one -- and in many union areas -- it WAS NOT the sole main reason for the war not matter how folks have "white washed" their history -- if it was then why when the war start in summer of 1861 didn't ole abe lincoln free the slaves right away? why did he wait till the war was 1 1/2 years old to do it ? simple -- the north never at first wanted to free the slaves -- the industrial north simplily wanted the rural south to stay in the union --supplying lots of money for the north to spend via all the massive taxes that they laid on the south's cotton crops (the north controlled both the house and senate of congress--thus the north could "legally" do as it pleased "tax" wize to the south with no recourse for the south --the north feared more "slave" southern leaning states thus a weaking of power and loss of control over the south)--( by the way 75% of our "national" income of the day was "cotton related") --thus the north needed the south to bankroll the north to keep their taxes low and supply raw goods for their factories--- the slaves were freed only after the north finally figgered out it was to be a long and costly war --- lincoln freed the slaves as a very calculated move --thus causing the slaves to finally "care" who won -- escaping slaves joined the union army and the fear of slave upraisings and escapes kept southern troops tied down (at a very important phaze of the war) so that southern troops were unable to go north and put pressure on the union army --- freedom for the slaves was vastly unpopular among the very wealthy up north as many of the ultra rich in the north had plantations in the south and if you read it carefully --it only freed the slaves in the states that were in rebellion against the US Government not the entire USA --- truth is truth --- learn the real history -- not "his - story"

two more days and I get to go....I will most definetely take pictures of the hanging tree...so you all can see it.... its gong to take me many days to do this..and I am going to show her how to use my spare detector...we are both super syked.... she will do fine as shes always wanted to metal detect....sides, kindness reaps rewards...not that I am looking for rewards...but its like karma..treat others as you would want to be treated...so you can bet your bottom dollar I will be letting ya all know wed. nite....

A little enthusiasm would be nice. Come on, this is your first time getting permission to hit an OLD site and you act like it memorial penny time. Slow is the word to remember, faint signals will be heart breakers, and dig everything deep, you might dig six or eight pieces of junk, then #7 might just "bust" out and be a goodie!! Good Luck, and I sure hope to see a pocket full of OLD coins!!

BootyBay....GOOD LUCK to you!!! and CONGRATS on an awesome site to hunt!!!

Now you are making me wonder if I should take another gander at this one site here in my town that has been in the same family since it was granted to them by the King of England....Ok...I will see about driving over there this week....I have no more days off this week...so I will have to fit my visit inbetween work hours. But I won't be able to hunt until the weekend, as I won't go without hubby...lots of woods!

I can't wait to see all the wonderful items you recover!!! I look forward to your post on Wednesday night!!!

Good luck and Have a marvelous time!!!!!

I am going real slow thru this place..real real slow... after I show her how to use my spare...shes super excited too... at this point... I would be extremely happy with ONE nice silver coin of anything.... cause so far..I have only found 3 silver dimes.. two wheaties, one newly lost ss necklace with pendant..and the killer of em all so far is my tiffany & Co. silver chain..which by the way I have a scale on its way to me...am dying to know the weight of this sucker..

as for the my friend that lives there.... shes very honest and upfront... infact, get this...she asked a woman to help her clean out an old shed ( wish I was the one on that one) the woman finds on the floor buried under all the junk, a beautiful ring with a huge rock in it..what kinda stone I dont know..she showed it to my friend..and she said, well, I told you you could have whatever you wanted and found...she still is wearing that ring to this day the lady she let have it..

and I am so dying to see this hanging tree...will definetely take pictures of that for ya all....but not the front of the house..as I kinda want my first important dig to remain a secret. Since I have had such a hard time getting a FIRST yes on a really old spot...

ONE MORE DAY AND PLEASE DONT RAIN TOMORROW

well apparantly one member is NOT happy with me taking a photo of the hanging tree... rather then name names... get over it.... its all part of the american history....if a person does not care to see the picture of the so called hanging tree..then dont read my thread here..... I am not going into war mode over this.....

I look forward to your pictures. I am glad your not letting one persons opinion stop you from sharing pics of this amazing site you are hunting. I will show my kids the pics and tell them about the history of the area without any reservations. Thanks for sharing...Ryan

Hi Bootybay does it have one of those Historical plackets
on the building or on a pole located on the property if
so don't hunt there, places that are on the historical registry
are against the law too hunt reguardless who owns the
PROPERTY and you will have togo thru your state historical society
to accuire permission from what ive been told also found out
it's a FEDERAL OFFENCE to hunt those places w/o going thru
the state you reside in to hunt those locations, if not go far it.

Git er done!

Have a good day tomorrow.
Hope you post all you find without reservation.

Don't sweat what other people think.
There will always be a Nay Sayer.
Show your pix and let them sort it all out.

Tell them to come talk to me...

I am totally in the clear to hunt this place..any relics..I will gladly give up ( after photos of course) should I be lucky enough to find a slave token, then she and I split that.. but I am just looking foward to hunting a spot where I know its got history..where folks walked, talked, did whatever there.. hundreds of years ago.. that is my thrill ...infact I am so excited I cant sleep yet... I am going slowly thru the whole place...and I will be doing it several times over many days, I will hunt only when she can hunt with me... after all, its her place.. and even if I dont find something tomorrow..there is always the next day.. so either way, I have kept in the back of my mind, what to look for, all the signs...the trees... everything.. and I am gonna enjoy the hell outta myself.. thats the secret.. go out.. have fun... enjoy yourself, tune into the sounds around ya, listen closely yet walk with eyes wide open and suck it all in.. feel what once was walked over by many long gone... and have the utmost respect for the earth and property... in other words.. be thankful you woke up...got up...got out to enjoy doing something that you love to do and of course, the thrill of the hunt and connecting with the past... I will know once I see this hanging tree...I will feel what happened there... I have always had a so called gift of sorts, so I will know if its real or not, all I will have to do is touch the tree and I will know..weird I know... and I dont talk much about my gift.. so tomorrow, I shall be super tuned in.. and enjoying it all...

thank you all for your support..and I hope to share lots of neat pictures as well..regardless of my outcome.. like I said.. ya cant do all this in one day... : )

Rae...

Good luck bootybay... :)

Easy now. I assume you'll be driving, so calm down a bit and be safe.
When it's all over, then you can scream and act like a nut. ;)
