It's been 5 years now Bill. The new black coil is more stable then the previous white one, so it can run at a higher sensitivity, often allowing for more depth.

Well about the same depth, however, the black coil doesn't false as much as the white coil did when hunting in the woods, so you can run it at a higher sensitivity, which often times can give you extra depth.

I just love the new coil. Now I am wondering what to do with the two white in color (old) coils I have.
