GTI 2500 Broke Again!

The main reason the pinpoint button sticks in my opinion is because you have to hold it down the entire time you are pinpointing. Most othere brands you just have to press to pinpoint and then press again to disengage. You have to keep enough pressure on the pinpoint button to keep it engaged the whole time you are pinpointing. The ACE series is the same way but the button is much wider and less likely to stick. In fact my ACE 250 has never stuck. In my original post I am not putting the 2500 down, just mainly wanted to report on how efficient the service was, and it was outstanding. I use my ACE and a RS3300 to piddle around parks and school grounds but when the chips are down I rely on my GTI 2500. But if my 2500 is down for service, the little ACE is a very proficient backup. It's frustrating when a detector doesn't work. ??? (In my case, I got no repsonse at all, and the battery charge indicator had NO bars, but batts. were fine.)
First thing I'd do is invest in a screen cover - too easy to get dirt in behind the buttons. They fit pretty well.
Next - someone told me this on another forum - reboot the detector when it's acting funny. Remove the batteries, turn the machine OFF. Replace the batts, turn the machine back ON.
