I did not reach my goal, but more than $38 is still good considering it was all coins.

I will continue with this log for 2014, instead of creating a new thread, in order to eliminate the confusion with people posting in two different threads.

I just found 25.02 this year. Five of that was folding money the rest was change. Usually I do better since I help out at a youth camp in the summers but this year was lean.

2013 found money

I have spend the whole year of 2013 picking up coins and dollars off of the ground. I wanted to see how much money I can find during the year that other people have lost or just threw away on the ground. I have managed to find money every day of the year. I even got my girlfriend, my kids, my brother and nephew looking to. Here are our totals.

My finds - $579.78 and two gold rings, a 10K and 14K plus I found an $1,500.00 cashier check that I return and got a very sincere thank you from the person it was made out to

My Girlfriend - $762.00 - she found an envelope with $720 in it, We could not locate who lost it.

My Daughter - $40.00 plus a Sterling Silver Tiffany and Co heart bracelet and she found a wallet that had $350.00 in it and her and my son found the guy on facebook and return the wallet to him.

My brother and nephewl - $158.74 plus a Garmin that my brother is now using in his vehicle

So keep a look out on the ground and see what you might find in 2014.

Closing out 2013 I now add the two quarters and two cents I found in my KFC drive-thru back around Xmas. Makes my 2013 total $13.48 in ground found change and a few one dollar bills.

Thanks for starting this Sag. It's been fun keeping a real count. I'll continue on as long as Sag is in it. I figure my low count is the lack of folding money I've always found in the wind blown bushes around the Mall, 7-11's and Costco. Just not there or other people are working my sites. I've always produced a five, ten or a twenty from the bushes. Did learn the McDonald's window girls go pick up the loose change on a regular schedule.

My most unusual ground find was an elderly Asian Lady sitting on the asphalt outside her car on one of those high 90 days. Got her in her car, cooled off and watered. It all worked out. So, we're off and running a new Sag. Remember, rolling kids for their lunch money doesn't count. lol.

Wow that's incredible hmix! How do you find All this cash? That's mind boggling

The top places I find ground finds is the high school parking lots and car washers. Drive thrus are also a gold mine on Holidays, when all the employees are in a hurry to leave their work place and they do not check the drive thru windows. Just went to some drive thrus on New Years day and found $7.83 to start 2014 ground finds. I have three car washers within 1 mile of my house so every time I am drving past them I stop and look around the vacuum stations, in the bays and the trays where people get their armorall wipes, towels, etc. Those trays gave me alot of quarters this past year. Kids drop alot of money in the HS parking lots but I have competition now and saw some people walking a couple of the HS parking lots this year. So I starting thinking outside the box and decide to see where the wind blows paper money at HS parking lot and found quite a few paper money laying against tall grass and fences around the HS parking lots. I also found money at grocery stores, Target, Walmart, etc parking lots and in the stores at the check out lines. This year I am going to see what is laying at bar/club parking lots after the drunks leave the bars. I figure early mornings would be the best time to walk those parking lots. Hopefully I will be successfully at that. I will let everyone know. Also going to try some of the outdoor summer concerts after the concerts are over. That should be pretty good early in the morning after all the drunks have left. It will be an interesting year. As they say at any given moment there is over $300,000.00 laying on the ground in the USA. Just keep your eye out for it and you will find it.

I found 6 cents today, so I guess my 2014 YTD total is 6 cents

Just curious, did anyone get any silver coins or foreign last year? I think I was the winner for both categories.

I found a 1951 quarter and a Mexican 5 peso last year

Only a joke Sag. Remember it was Spart who said it. btw, have you heard from Spart since he left here? I miss his humor.

Got out today and walked the Target Lot while my wife shopped. Nothing. I've been fighting a case of shingles on my face and left eye so I've been house bound for couple of weeks.
Couldn't drive. I can get used to being driven around. More or less cured now. Still look like Frankenstein. That's why I wasn't inside. Just waiting for my blurred vision to come back. The eye Doc said it would come back.

Wouldn't you know it, I'm way back in the Target Lot edge and a County Cop came cruising by to check me out. Second time this year. Remember I was checked out while waiting for a prescription earlier this year? This time I had the sense to ask if anyone reported me. No, just saw me and decided to let me know it wasn't safe to be out there alone. Guess it's the Cane I'm using for balance with one eye. The Lot backs up to some shady low rent Townhouse rentals. I started to move my coat so he could see my .40 cal Glock, but thought better of it.

But, I'll get out there and make more of an effort checking the drive-thru's this year. Got to get in there while the service girls are busy. Have a good year my friend.
