Hi, I'm new to being active in the hobby but not new to metal detectors. Being an electronics technician and hobbyist I have built my own simple ones as a child but they didn't perform well...with todays cheap electronic products on the market and the growing interest in the hobby I research the current state of things and was pleasantly surprised to find an assortment of equipment and YouTube vids.
This got me hooked and the finding of this site sealed my fate....
Decided on a Teknetics Delta 4000 kit (comes with pinpointer and headphones), not a manual ground balance machine but performs quite well and was only $249 on sale at my local Canadian Tire outlet.
Now my girlfriend says I'm saucy cause I always have to get a good dig in whenever possible....;-)
Looking forward to participating on this site and finding my 1st pot of gold (actually I've already found gold... a gold wrist chain on my second hunt...)
Wish I lived in a place with better weather though...
