Last night the town was hit by a very large "wedge" tornado. It was reported to be 1 mile wide. The town (pop 1600) is only about a mile wide. The town is almost completely destroyed. The water tower is down. Below it is the museum that houses the 1000 lb palasite found in 1949 by Stockton and the world's largest hand dug well. This is the same area that Steve Arnold found the 1400 lb Palasite in 2005. The town has been evacuated.
9 dead, 65 injured. Many agencies are providing search and rescue. The Red Cross is there.

Just thought I would let my fellow meteorite enthusiasts know.
