Hello Fellow Forumites,

As long as the weather is holding up here ( ??? wait a minute....I'm not in the Mid-West or the East)....let me re-phrase...
The unrelenting great weather in S. CA has continued in the final month of the '07 year, allowing me to get a few more of those shiny old coins.

I've had a couple of productive hunts this week, continuing to build upon my silver count with the year nearly over. Both parks I hunted at this week have been worked over by myself and my wilver-sucking-magnet buddies. It just goes to show, there's always more if you have the will, time, and good weather(oh, I said that already ;D). The silver coins were found from a wide range of depths this time...from 1" to 8". The sterling naval aviator wings pin was a cool find. I wish it hadn't been chopped by the lawnmower. I tried to find the other half, but came up empty.

I didn't get a chance to hunt with my buddy/wilver filming extraordinaire, Jon(goldenapples) this week, so we'll try for next week for a new wilver video. :'(

Thanks for looking.
Happy Holidays,
CAPTN SE
Dan

Hey Capt, congrats on more silver!!!Too bad you couldn't find the rest of that pin,it looks pretty cool.Looks like you have a few chopped up coins there how do you think that happened? Lawnmower? They must have been right on top for that to happen. Congrats and Happy Holidays, Bootstrap

Thanks, Bootstrap. I'm sure the lawnmower has chopped a lot of the coins at my parks here. I've been finding quite a few of them this year. I did not find these coins on the top of the ground....they were probably chopped some 50 years ago when they were dropped. The grass grows so fast over here...

8) Super finds, SE!

Dan,

You continue to amaze me with your skills. I know of not nobody who can compete with you at these parks. :D You are so inspiring, you even have a certain dude who uses a certain machine inspired to purchase your certain machine...an SE. ;) :D

We are snowed in now here at BDD, so we won't be detecting for the rest of the year. >:( Oh well, I will live my passion through you now, buddy.

Go find some more deep wilver! ;) :)

Yo, Dan, what's up, buddy? We have about 4" of snow now. :'( I will seriously be going through coppa withdrawal. :D

I do like PA's historic ground, but damn, at these times, I want to move to warmer climates. :D

Way to go Dan. L@@KS like you're still kickin' but. Enough with the weather jokes already bud....it's painful enough knowing you have sunny weather ...while I busted my a$$ this morning on an ice covered sidewalk ;D
Hopefully I can get my year end post up before long to show what came from my mean old hunted out sites. Nothing amazing and no super totals...but definately not hunted out as my buddies told me years ago ;)

Real Nice, drooling while I am wiping off ice of my windshield. Wish those wings weren't clipped, thats a cool find, now they're probably made from plastic...

Capt ,you have found enough silver this year to start your own coin shop! WTG and congrats on a mindblowing year!!

Those are some great finds! :o Never would of thought of a lawnmower shearing coins straight in half, now do you count that as 1 silver or 1/2 or 1/3?
J/K ....Imagine how many MD'ers went over those, just shows how freakin good you are with the SE.

-JC

Thanks, Bryce, Green1, Birdman, Don, Halfdime, JC!!

Yes, Bryce, let's see that year end post from you...can't wait.

JC, I'm sure lots of MD'ers have detected the parks I've been hunting since the early 80's. I have not detected any virgin ground this year. So it goes to show that you can always make great finds, even in places that have been detected for years. Never assume a place has been hunted out. My SE has proven that to me many times this year.

Yo, Dan, what's up, my man? You are frickin' unbelievable when it comes to yanking out the wilvers in large numbas. In my short metal detecting career, I have never seen anyone yank out so many old wilvers in a single metal detecting season....simply amazing.

Keep the fever high, Dan!

Bone Dry Detecting...KylePA :D

Dan,
You forgot the part about you lounging by the pool sipping cold Margaritas out there in sunny Cali. ;)
Great job on the silver. Are you sure someone isn't cutting those up and planting them for you as a sick joke? :o :D
Looking forward to your next video.
-Doug-

Thanks, Kyle. Appreciate all your responses/inspiration throughout the year to keep digging a few more. I'm recalling some of your previous posts......Dan, go for 350....come on, you can get 400.....450, no problem....Dan, try for 500, I know you can do it....Come on Dan, go for 550......I see 600 in your future....Thanks alot, bud.

Doug, hmmm, maybe it was me chopping them up so I can count all the pieces as separate silver finds.... ;D ;D No, actually, if you saw all these mowers over here in our parks, you would know they are the culprit. Maintenance cuts the grass once a week at most of the parks here. The blades are real close to the ground. This year, I was only once able to find both halves of the same Rosie lying a few feet apart, each piece about 5" in the ground.

Dan so you think with all the quarters this year you might invest in a DFX :-X

Ready when you are for the next installment of Deep Silver bud.

Very nice totals, WTG!!!
Glad the weather is holding out for ya,,,,
Continued Good luck, & Happy hunting~
