Great hunt, 1830's SC button, 1766 Hibernia, Bellarmine jug, etc.

Went hunting yesterday at my colonial site in the South Carolina Lowcountry and did pretty well! Was surprised to see an 1830s 18mm south carolina button pop out of the ground, but since this is a very scare button I am over the moon! Also got a nice 1766 Hibernia, A fragment of a rare 1500s-1600s Bellarmine jug, some buttons and a bunch of pipe stems from a trash pit. Also got a broken georgian wig curler! All in all a great day digging!

Well done, great finds. Keep sifting the site, no telling what will surface.

Very nice finds. Love the CFT! Especially how the digits of the II are leaning away from each other.

Awesome hunt! I love the old copper. :occasion14:

Fantastic stuff. Looks like it may have been a tavern site or some type of public place based on the sherds and pipe stems. Do you have any ideas?

I actually know that there was a tavern here, it's well documented, I've gotten about 600 pipestems out of here along with plenty of other artifacts! :)

The SC button and Hibernia are just awesome. I like your ID on the jug fragment too. Very well done sir!

Always nice to see old stuff come from the Carolinas. Gives me hope!

Terrific haul of relics. Your knowledge and passion for history is inspiring. Any chance you'll be able to piece together any of that Bellarmine jug?

I love sites where you can dig great stuff from different periods, and a Confederate button and Colonial copper would certainly qualify.

Found many pieces of bartmann jugs but never part of the medallion. Great assortment of finds

Great assortment of glass, pottery and stems. The button is in great shape as the copper, best of luck on the return hunt for the jug pieces.

Wow... awesome finds and post  The buttons and copper are incredible, but I love that picture of all the pipe stems, hair curler and jug medallion. Those are some personal items that I could dig up all day!
