Greetings All ~!
Had some warmer weather up here in New Hampshire,
Great day for some digs :hello2:
Spent 5 hours combing the flats, pulled a lot of stuff !!
My 2 best 19th century Silvers yet, 1857 3C & 1871 Canada 10C,
(which I thought was a Bust dime til I got home, I don't look closely in the field,
never know who's watching )
Mike, I guess I don't need a new detector to find my bronze Anchor !
(well, maybe I do, cause this one is brass)
A plated Brass Terrier, has 2 attachment points on bottom, maybe from a trophy :icon_scratch:
Brass pocketwatch, no maker, just 'Made in USA'
Small 1 piece button, backmark 'Rich Color',
parts & escapemants from 3 clocks, one Lead filled halfmoon pendulum,
USN flashlight, brass chalice thing ? candleholder :icon_scratch:
Anyone think this pewter piece may be a shoe buckle :dontknow:
A kerosene light shroud from an early Ford (Brown Model 16)
Dug my biggest hole ever to retrieve a Nash hubcap,
an ornamental whatsit, Curtain rod holder??
2 whale oil lamp wick holders, and an Adlake,
a few lead/pewter buttons,
and 15 -20 pounds of brass & copper scrap for the recycle.,
Thanks for looking & HH to All

Nice digs my friend. That 3 cent silver is sweet, and you know I'm a sucker for an anchor. Keep up the good work Herbie. Headed out myself tomorrow. :icon_thumright:

Hello ... I too love everything , especially the Bronze anchor .
But the photo of the hole is rare .... :icon_scratch:
Congratulations.

Thats a good looking pup and worth a few dollars as well

As always Herbie, you find some of the coolest stuff! :o
The 1871 Canada Silver Dime is apparently a fairly rare date, only 800,000 were minted that year. The average mintage of Canadian dimes from 1858 to 1890 was between 1.2 million and 1.6 million per year.
The average selling price for a coin in this condition would book at around $20.

These two are my favourites pieces!
Can you tell me what the purpose of this anchor might have been? :icon_scratch:
Just for decoration maybe?

Dave

Hello Hispan,
Had to include a pic of my biggest dug hole, the hubcap was buried at least 24"
when they widened the causeway where it was found.
just a slight beep from my etrac at first, getting better the deeper I dug,
I knew it was gonna be a large object.
hoping for a Cache, instead it was a Nash :laughing9:
