We hit my latest research spot today and it produced some nice finds. 1816 LC another LC which date has yet to be revealed, and these 2 mystery coins. The one with the Flor-de-les appears to be hammered!!?? And the other is a little bigger than a penny but thinner. My friend Nat found both of them at colonial sites dating mid 1700s to 1850s (that's when they go off the maps) Then...I got a "spoon spill" haha. Great day, any help with ID is appreciated on coins. GL and HH! Super finds! :icon_thumright: I think your unknown coin could be this or similar --

First off Bramblefind is amazing and a great asset to this forum. You never cease to amaze! Now for my fellow Mainer....you have really hit you stride and been getting on some great dirt. I am a research fanatic and that's what makes the difference clbetween mediocre hunts and killer hunts. Keep it up my friend. I'm really enjoying seeing your success and great finds

The research I've done has definately improved the quality of hunts. This site we hit was totally VIRGIN... and we only just touched less than 5% of it. Old colonial multiple house farmstead in the middle of nowhere. Old 300yr old maples lining an old wagon path. Literally the best spot I've ever been! I know there has to be some colonial era silver lurking somewhere!!! Thanks for the praise, hopefully one day we can all do a group hunt! Till then, GL and HH
