This past Monday I hit the beach that has been so good to me. For gold, I got this 14K gold wedding band engraved 11-16-57, which I assume is 1957. I almost missed it, as it was in the same excavated sand pile as a sinker β good thing I double checked. The St. Christopher Medal is also stamped 14K gold, and looks like a more recent drop. The other ring might be gold, but I am not sure. It looks old to me, and has βO to Pβ engraved in fancy lettering. I really need to get a test kit! For silver coins, I got a toasted 1945 Walking half, a 1946 Washington, a 1941 Mercury, two undated Mercuries, and a 1945D silver nickel. Also hit a bunch of nickels, including a 1911 V nickel, my first dated Buffalo (1935), and an old Jefferson (1939). The coins are in rough shape, but it was fun digging them. Not pictured is the clad, pull tabs, sinkers, etc. I am getting spoiled by this beach, and it is nice not having to deal with roots, ticks, mosquitoes, etc. Happy hunting and good luck out there!
EDIT NOTE: Added additional photo of possible gold ring after slight cleaning and to show engraving. Any tips to remove more of the tarnish, as this ring has some nice detail? Thanks!
