Well let me say that this trip is really about 3 of us here at t-net and another mutal Bahamian friend !! Myself, @SADS 669 , @Magoopeter and our Bahamian friends!! These guys are great and we all met here at t-net !! I always fish on this far out Bahamian island, and sads and I have had quite a few adventures over the years !! Well this one was no different...except I came to explore only and had no other obligations to fishing or work...a vacation!! The trip was a complete success!! And although @Magoopeter couldn't make it in person he pitched in with ideas research, and theories as to what we were discovering. But the first day was a disaster....flight canceled!! And hotel for the night .... gonna miss a day already. We'll lemon to lemonade!! Free room at "Breezes resort" cable beach Bahamas 🇧🇸!! Guess what happened that night at sunset detecting cable beach ..... RING RETURN !! to a newly Wed couple !! Married on Monday, lost ring on Wednesday, and I returned ring on Saturday !! Wooo hooo !!

Not only that, the first ring I found, was not there's!! So after after a few minutes of shock I started again, and first target was it !! Here's the first ring I found

Both rings were heavy tungsten!!

So after another half day flying I hit the ground running and never looked back until 4 days later !! Wooo hooo it was killer. Pirate shipwreck beach, plantation with slave whipping post site, old 18th century possibly 17th century church site, and mystery plantation site with lost tomb !! Over the years sads and I have had some adventures but this on was great 4 days with sads and our Bahamian friends!!

Either way we used a backhoe from a nearby sand mining operation to move some big boulders , and sure enough in the loose disturbed sand up comes the pirate reale from a site that has produced others for us....especially if you know me here at t-net !! We scrambled through the bush the next day at the slave whipping post site and got a silver spoon bowl, a spent musket ball, a very unique mystery lead object, slave flat button, broken 1700s bottle top, and many many colorful pottery fragments it took sads and our Bahamian friends hours to hack our way into these still standing ruins isolated in thick Bahamian bush !!

At the church site things date way back and it's absolutely incredible site with standing bell tower , and even some rafters left .... it dates to 1600s Spanish occupation, and I got a bronze tudor rose church door ornament....just a killer find right buy the rectory entrance steps !! Then I found some curch window glass stii sitting in the dirt just under one opening!!

Just mid blowing little pieces of history that give us a glimpse of the opulence of a Spanish colonial church ⛪️ I'll make a shadow box of artifacts from this site and return with it for the local museum. The one reale I'll mount in gold for my Bahamian friend made from freshly dropped gold rings I've found this summer !!I'll take you guys along for the coin transformation in this thread as it goes....starting to clean it now. The chips of pottery and shards of glass will be made into art In The form of a framed mosaic. There's plenty more stuff to share from this trip, but I'll have to see if I can grab some frames from video to show you guys.

I've taken the church glass shards, and have some small pieces being mounted in silver with bezels. The larger piece is mounted on wood and will be given back to the museum for display !! This glass allows a glimpse of what the church looked like in 1888. This is one of the oldest church in the Bahamas, and dates to 1600s. Here's the artist sketch for the jewelry being made !!

Very cool Bart!

Those are really great looking pieces Bart.
Thank you pepper. They should be shipped from Utah next week. I sent them home with the artist/silver Smith over the Christmas break !!

That looks awesome. Congrats on what appears to be a great trip! Will you be back soon? :O
Thank you sir....yes I plan to return with several of my finds to give back to my Bahamian friends.

Your jeweler not able to fit the task in the schedule?

Thank you crusty...not the typical type of treasure, but i thought they .might be a nice present for the housewives of the Bahamas!!🤣🤣
Artisans often design sea glass with silver as pendants.
These would be well received gifts.

building a framed mosaic piece with pottery shards collected from a site known for slave brutality in the 17-1800s.this site was owned by the son of the Bahamian governor in 1780s.

then there was the church glass, and church door rosette that was also mounted for return and presentation to a Bahamian museum. It is important in understanding how this church looked in 1888 !!

the pendants will be given out to the very patient wives of my treasure hunting partners for there patience and understanding when I come and take off with there husband's for a week at a time. They were made from the smaller shards of the same pressed glass from the church.

And of course the treasure coin I found is still awaiting diamonds to be mounted around the bezel, and then it will be brought back to the Bahamas and given to my friend for all his hospitality.
I've had a great time working with the finds i made, and can't wait to return with these preserved treasures for my friends !! It was a hell of a trip, and I was even able to make a ring return on top of all the other finds !! Woooo hooo !! Counting down before i return !!

She is a friend i met online....she came all the way down to hunt for treasure to mount in her settings. We hit it off very well, and she ended up spending Thanksgiving with the family. We collaborate on stuff and have become good friends....always trying to use her talents, and send her business.

The best news is that I've been cleared by the Bahamas to participate for 2 weeks at a time on a permitted Bahamian treasure operation.

That's great to have a person that understands what you are all about.

I have met jewelers that get the glazed, eyes, tilted head look if it falls out of the traditional style of work.

Here's an example of a jeweler screwing up a dug ring. The band was broken (where they resize rings)

I asked them if they could repair it, without damaging the maker's mark on the outside of the ring band.

"No problem sir."
I picked up the ring and the totally wiped out the maker's mark.🤬

It was the first and only ring I have found with the hallmark on the outside of the band.

I have learned that forming relationships with the jewelers is key to getting the treasure into a form that everyone can appreciate. This friend had enough courage to reach out and ask me if I had anything that she may be able to use in her art....I sent her a box full of beach treasures including a treasure coin !! Now we are regularly collaborating on pieces to create. Like minded souls !!

that ring is a beauty pepper 🌶
