Grandma has been at it again!!! Worlds first direct current moter!!!

Congrats. I thought so.

I didn't even notice that vaseline glass last time. I see a few nice hard to find pieces there. I especially like the Richards & Hartley pitcher. It's too bad that stuff doesn't sell like it used to.
Thanks for the reply. The R&H pitcher is nice it came with 4 different glasses. Hopefully it will sell well as a set.. The microscope sold for 250 which was nice. I am hoping for more sales like that this summer but it is hard to get down to the city. Grandma is not driving anymore and she has the eye!

Congrats on the finds and selling the motor. My dream is run an antique/junk store after I retire? How long have you been running yours? How much time do you put into it?

Sorry I didn't see this post before this. That motor, if boxed, MIGHT have been for a class room. It seem's I've seen a similar one before. Great score. Good luck.

I gotta make it a point to stop by your place one of these day. Yes that baby carriage is pretty unique piece. I'm thinking it might be English or maybe French.:dontknow:

Hi silverdollarbill it is more of an excuse to hoard things in the winter and try to organize them in the summer. I do try and open on the busy weekends in the Summer. It is more of a hobby that I extremely love. My family keeps me very busy but they know the money is also good. This is my 5th year with the store but I’m really only open a total of 30-60 days a year. My town is very small and we only get busy in the summer months. I should put more time into it than I do. When the kids are gone I will have more time. We rent out the back to pay for the mortgage. I do enjoy it. I ebay the good collectible stuff, it definitely pays better for me.

Thanks for the information. From what I could tell it was one of the first motors where you could hook up different applications to, from a belt. It was not the original box and I think you would just mount it where you need it. Thank you for the information, you could easily be right.

With your eye you would probably make out like a bandit! Just kidding, I would love it if you stopped by, give me a heads up so I can be open!! I am sure I could learn a lot!! Any time your in the area!!! I thing Grandma thought the buggy was English also!

Very nice finds!

Thanks Professor, it gets addicting going out to the thrift stores and yard sales. I look forward to taking my Grandmother out hunting this summer:)
