I heard a story from some guys I worked with for awhile about a treasure cache in or around the PA Grand Canyon. Apparently they know a couple guys that have spent the last 20 years or so looking for it and finally gave up because they found nothing. They said something about a book that had the story of this cache and that it was from bank robbers or something. I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything about it or if you know the best way for me to go about looking up information. There is nothing online that I can really find and I don't have anyway of contacting these guys, so what do I do? Anyone hear about this story?

That's a pretty big area to look for something.

i havent been there since I was a teenager but do remember it was an awesome sight.

I've never heard of any treasure tales about it but I do believe it's not too far from the Coudersport Ice Mine. That's a freak of nature that freezes in the summer and melts in the winter and was discovered by some guys searching for gold.

Maybe try searching information on the Ice mine...maybe those guys knew something back then about the area that's been long forgotten.

There are tales about an area called Thunder Run, where a creek runs underground and supposedly guns were stashed. That, I think, is in Potter County also.
There are a few folks in here from the area that I'm sure will enlighten you better than i could.

I was born and raised in Tioga Co. Have lived in the area for 56 years. I have always been into treasure hunting and also local history. I have never heard of anything about a bank robbery in the area.
Good luck to ya !
