Decided to put together some of my nicer black flint pieces, to me it's the most beautiful of materials and it is in an abundance in my area. I found all of these in Jackson Co. Ohio. Enjoy and feel free to post any of your black beauties!

Ohio_Doug, that Thebes has actually been sharpened so much that the sides are almost straight up and down. It's a really nice point, but there is a down side to me finding it. I used to tie my arrowhead bag to my belt and when I found that point and went to put it in the bag it was gone. It had 4 points in it too, two Big Sandy's, and Adena, and a small Birdpoint. I tried to backtrack and follow my footprints and never did find the bag. The bag was brown, the same color as the dirt, and it was getting dark. I even came back to the site the next day and looked all over for about 2 hours and never did find it. I did find a few more points though. I haven't tied my bag to my belt since.
It is a very nice point, too bad about the 4 points that were lost :'(

That's some nice points you got there Ohio_Doug, thanks for sharing

This point belongs to a coworker who has since showing it to me quit, He said when he was young his mother found it under some old furniture that had been left behind in a house that they moved in. I carried it to a artifact show to let several experts check it out and they said that it was definitely worked using a deer antler but they couldn't tell if it was an artifact or not. No matter what it's a beautiful piece.

Looks like green obsidian to me. Most of what I seen of it comes from the N. California to Wash. State. Nice work on that thing.
Hard for me to tell if its old or not. The only obsidian I've collected are those I personally found while stationed up that way long long ago.

I was wondering if anyone has one or seen one similar to it?
