Alright figured out the threshold level and my audio mistake.
My legend came with firmware V1.07 which I did not use instead opted to just go ahead and go straight for V1.11.
If you do the same make sure while downloading the firmware to also download the PDF manual as it is up to date and current with all the settings and features that are in V1.11.
When I set field mode for 6 tone I thought it would be a bright idea to graduate the volume for each zone and that was not a good idea at all so its no wander why my tone audio was being drown out by the threshold.
I went back to the default volume settings for 6 tone in the end.
So I got that all straightened out.
If I'm reading the diagrams for the threshold levels right it looks as if a threshold level of 5 would be optimal,I cranked it up 12 and that was way too noisy it must of been picking up every grain of iron in the ground at that level.
I'd been glossing over another audio feature called audio gain, which is not mentioned in the V1.07 manual it is suppose to increase the sound of weaker targets I messed with it a bit it did seem to brighten up some targets, I had it set up to 5 and it goes from 1-6 I'm not sure how much use there is for that but its there, and already set at a default of 3.
With all things straightened out I'll say this one last thing I hope Nokta Makro considers hiring humans to write their manuals from here on out because the Klingons are not very good at explaining things in written form.:icon_biggrin:

The lower that you run the AG the easier you'll be able to figure out the relative depth of targets. 5-6 makes all the targets sound the same. Running mine at 2 allows me to clearly tell the deep ones from the shallow.

Thanks for the tip nuggetshooter323.
I'll give that a few test swings in my trash garden (my lawn is full of roofing nails etc) I set it back to default(3) after feeling out what it was suppose to do.
Sadly everything I've changed so far will have to be tweaked again once our soil here gets back to a normal moisture level.
But that's aright to I already know going to different locations I'll have to do that on the fly anyhow its good to know how to navigate the menus and know where everything is at.

Here is something that is not in the manual also: there is two different threshold being utilized in the Legend, Park,Field, and Beach mode utilize a reference threshold, Gold Mode utilizes what is called a true threshold, those two different types of threshold work completely different

Basically a Reference threshold will alert you that you have just swept your coil over a target that you have discriminated out

you will have to research the differences in the two types of threshold being used in the Legend

also the AG (audio Gain Setting) if you set the AG to high like a setting of 6 it will make every target you swing over sound like it is rite on top of the surface, the AG is there so you can get a better audio volume on deeper targets that are a whisper but it can affect all targets volume if set to high I.E 6 is to high

one last thing the AG (Audio Gain) feature was not available in the 1.07 version it was added when 1.08 was released to us 1.08 was quickly updated to 1.09 because 1.08 had some issues newest version is 1.11 Nokta added several features that were brought out in three beta test versions none of those new features were available in 1.04,1.05,1.06, or 1.07 there has been a ton of features added across the board especially in the 1.11 version AG,IF,BC,ST,and GS were all added when the 1.11 was release as well as a few other things which I cannot think of at this moment

Thanks for the info Oldkoot.
I'm glad you dropped that on me seems like a lot of people are under the false impression that threshold somehow is going to get more depth on a target or all targets.
I decided after reading what you wrote and looking into it myself to set it back to default 0,as Park and Field mode will be my main go to modes of use where I'm at.
I've just about got the lawn mowed from all the frequency mode tests I've run out there waiting for rain so I can dig in a couple permissions I have.

The Threshold in park, field and beach modes I do not use at all after I figured it out that the threshold in those three modes is a Reference threshold I also run a zero threshold in those three modes, however with having said that the Gold mode is a threshold based mode so you really have no choice but to use the threshold when detecting in the Gold mode, the threshold in gold mode does need to be set correctly or it can cost you good targets if set to high it can cost you good targets because if set to high it will over power the target if set to low it can also cost you to miss targets, a true threshold has to be adjusted correctly, set incorrectly either way and you will miss small targets like small gold nuggets, which is my main detecting, personally I see no need for the reference based threshold in park, field and beach mode, but that is my opinion the one feature I use in every mode is the AG (Audio Gain) especially when I am detecting for gold nuggets that is a great added feature, that was added in 1.11 initially in the three Beta test versions that nokta put out they only added AG to park, field and beach modes in Beta test versions 1 & 2 I sent in a request for them to add it to the gold mode also and apparently a few others also requested it and apparently Nokta felt it was a good idea also because they added it to the Beta test version 3 and then implemented it in version 1.11 if used corretly the AG can help a ton with deeper small gold nuggets

One last thing if you are looking for a good coin program check out Scott Lupro's Legend coin program he goes by Mental Metal detecting on you tube

just beware Scotts coin program you will miss gold jewelry and other targets if you try his program it is strictly a coin program

below is his coin program
