its been a long time since i have been able to get out and do anything, ive been down with my back again and the weather doesnt help much. I made it out to my friends and had a good walk, bean field was drilled with wheat and there is alot of bean litter from combining but I did walk up on this heart breaker. what do you think a knife maybe, it sure is thin for as wide as it is, if it was heavier i would think it was a digger or hoe. Oh well it made my heart race for a minute. then i went down to the creek and walked awhile came up with another broke I cant tell what it was either. Anyway I had a wonderful day just getting out. I have been so sick of sitting in this house and just reading and dreaming of artifact hunting and metal detecting, I would like to say to all you guys that been posting your finds thanks. Its been about the only thing that gets me up, I have read just about everything on this forum at least once. So good luck to you all. JYD... just a few pics of my walk, im going to try again tomorrow. JYD...

That's a heartbreaker for sure. Looks like a good place to hunt. Get rid of that white stuff though. Tommorrow should be warmer. Good luck!

Sure is a heartbreaker. Nice material though.

Great piece! Any grinding on the edges?

Although they could just be random flakes, I see a couple of Clovis like hallmarks on that piece (those two outre passe flakes on the one side and what look like isolation flakes on the bottom to set up a nipple.) You might want to pay attention to that spot.

If you haven't seen it, check out a cache of clovis bifaces before they were worked down into the more classic shape.

Good to see you back on it JYD. Nice pics man they really make me want to do some creek hunting. I know that outre passe flaking shows up in all periods, but I agree with Joshua about the paleo timeframe, the white piece looks like a paleo biface imo. Good luck on that spot looks promising.

Man am I glad to see you back in the hunt. :hello2: Looks like a fun place this summer. Is that up from the old guys house you met last year? Take care JYD !

Nice finds, even the heart breaker is a nice one. Loved the water fall pic.

 RR

I just wanted to thank you all for the replys and let ya know the next day i was going to get back over there but could barely get out of bed, I need to take it a little slower and not take such a big bite until i get back in the groove.
also(( Joshuaream )) if its ground it wasnt that much by the feel, i appreciate the link on the cache bifaces and blades out of chesterfield, the one I found does have some similarities to those.
((TnMtns)) thanks for the shout, yes this is the same old place but I recieved permission to hunt the fields across the creek from here and as far as I can tell there isnt anyone else hunting this part of the creek for at least a mile both ways. Me and this weather need to get straightened out. then I'm going to find some killers. Thanks again. Wes...
