Detector(s) used
Teknetics T2 and XP Deus 2
Primary Interest:
Relic Hunting
Went on a short hunt yesterday to a site I've hit several times over the years and seem to pull out at least 1 or 2 coins, got a good solid 94 on my D2 and thinking this has to be a seated or Barber quarter but no it turned out to be a Civil War token that's pretty bad shape, was able to make out the eagle purched on a cannon and I think it says America on the back side. Found one like it in my search . Wish it had been in better shape but again don't find many of these in my area.

Great finds !

Looks like fire damage - it's up to you but if it's a Silver coin I'd put it in a Electrolysis Bath.
I found a unrecognizable Morgan Dollar last year that was in a house fire.
All that was visible was the date, several letters and a few stars.
It cleaned up real well in Electrolysis - at least it looks like Silver now.
Good Luck !

It's not silver, the ones I've found on line are brass, just thought it was strange to be reading so high on the D2

For me Large Cents and Silver Quarters come in the on the same target ID numbers on the E-Trac, Deus 1 & 2.
So it seems that most or all metal detectors target ID's are determined by thickness and diameter - not the composition of the metal.
