Larry called and said he had talked to a farmer and we had permission to hunt a long gone house site, so this afternoon off we go. We had been there about 30 minutes when I gbot a nice high tone and the numbers were right, the first shovel full produced a 1853 Large Cent, sadly it has a hole in it. About 15 minutes later I got a nice 1911 Wheatie and shortly after that I got a nice Brunswick-Balke-Collender "Good For" 5 Cents in Trade Token. I also dug 4 memorial cents, 4 flat buttons various pieces of brass and copper.
Larry got a very nice "Sportsman" Button a small silver ring, a 1880 Indian and a 1918 Mercury Dime. I believe there was a fire there as we both dug loads of melted lead, pewter, aluminum, etc. We will go back. Thanks for looking........................Lee

I like the holed coins. Let's face it, a dug large cent isn't going to be worth a fortune but one with a hole in it just seems so much more personal to me. Someone had to take the time to put that hole there. I found a holed 1845 braided hair largie earlier this year. Now if it was a high value copper I would obviously not feel this way because the hole detracts from the value. Congrats on some nice finds.

The Brunswick Corporation NYSE: BC, formerly known as the Brunswick-Balke-Collender Company, is a United States-based corporation that has been involved in manufacturing a wide variety of products since 1845. In 1884, another competitor, H.W. Collender Company of New York, was absorbed to form the Brunswick-Balke-Collender Company.

The large cent is a great find. Way to go.

The LC is great, like evolution says the holed ones are more personal. The token is great!

Nice finds Lee, I couldn't make out a town name on that token, maverick I suspect. What town is close to where you found it that may have had a pool hall?

Nice Large Cent. We found the same date earlier this year. Not holed but with some farm implement damage..Still a great find..jgas

Great finds, I'll take a holed copper anyday. Good luck on your next hunt.

nice, the only large cent that i have found you couldn't read the date.
Congrats!!!!!!
