That can't be real....

That's a first for me too :laughing7: :dontknow: Kinda looks like a rabbit with big, long ears. Or, maybe the letter 'S' or a 'Z'.

Yeah it was really odd. It was about 20-25ft tall too.

Funny you mention that because this is in campground that was used by the Native Americans in the 1600's. Of course if should be a bit bigger in that case. They have a big boulder with a marker on it saying it was a route used by the French and Indians.

Looks like a cherry tree rebounding from ice or wind damage.

Not sure what kind of tree it was...Just caught me off guard detecting and I look up and see this.

Maybe stepped on as a sapling...just a thought.

Interesting though... :icon_scratch:

funny, i had the indian trail guide tree thought too, but looks way too young. good eyes! always good to look around at places like that.

continued to grow in spite of storm damage

There are surely some odd ones out there, I've seen some crazy shaped ones. Looks like it was bent when it was young, possibly by someone and it grew back.

It could still be a trail marker. People still make them today, and its a simple natural way of making a permanent marker. Stones and other trails are easily eaten by the wilderness if not hunted/hiked for a couple seasons. Natives would use the tree's for obvious reasons. Same with people today. Also, it could just be a storm also.

Take a look here, to see the tree, all grown up. (similar photo angle shape etc)
