I'm sure that everyone here has stories about getting a really large signal. After digging down a bit, you've determined it to be a large piece of iron. So, what to do? Continue digging, waste more time? Or note where it is and just fill the hole back in, telling yourself that maybe ....another day. You know. :dontknow:

Then, one day you just get stubborn on such a signal. You're *going* to find out what's down there! No matter what! ;)

Well, that's where I was today. And after quite a bit of time.....

Wow! Now *that* is what Crocodile Dundee would call a "KNOIFE!!*" ! LOL!

Rest of the walk wasn't too very terrible.

See that item up top? Almost broke out the nitro when I opened that plug!!

So unfair!! :(

"Knoife" :laughing7: Looks like it could be one of a bunch of blades from some type of heavy equipment/machinery that can be replaced by removing & re-installing a nut & bolt.
Congrats on your nice finds.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Ha ha. The olde pretty / shiny object chest clutching scenario!
Better odds of prior greater value if you gouge it recovering it. (No , don't try it...)

Congrats on the fun.
And of course just for being out there!

Has the shape of a froe but would need to see the thickness to confirm. Froes are wedge-shaped. If it has a fairly thin back it has the overall shape of a turnip knife.

Definitely heavy tool. Must weigh 5 lbs!!
Thanks!

Definitely not the blade of a conventional knife, as it doesn't employ a simple and/or typical means for handle attachment. I agree with Jose's suggestion that it likely relates to some sort of machinery. Very interesting find, thanks for sharing!
