I've been off work for the last week because I just had my third child last Friday. I've been hanging with my two boys (4.5 & 6) all week. I got word from two of my pickup banks that my "delayed" boxes had been delivered. What better than a road trip with the boys. We set off at 10am today and didn't get home till almost 4. We ran to the first bank and grabbed 6 boxes. My youngest loves coins almost more than he loves me, lol. I opened the tops and put the boxes between their seats and let them start opening as we drove on. I started showing them how to tell the difference with sounds last week and they went at it. My older boy was dropping a roll and I heard the "clank" waiting to see if they caught it. Oh yeah, " Pop I got a 40!" Well we continued on to some dump banks after finding a handful more. Picked up the next load and let them go to town. A couple min later my youngest starts yelling at me "Pop, I got a Worker!" yeah thats what he calls them! The little guy shows me a '45 Walker! We Finished dumping and at the end we took 9 Clad Proofs, 13 40%ers, 2 '64's, a '59 Ben and '45 Walker! Best part of it was we had an awesome time and found some AG! I'm kinda scared of the competition I'm raising though, LOL!

That cool my step son helps me.

That's cool. Your kids will remember the CRhunting with daddy for a lifetime :) Pass on the obsession to the next generation, but they will have a harder time.........as all us old farts will have all the AG. ;)

Very cool!!

I tried doing it with my nephews, who are both under 5, and it did not take, they just kept re-arranging them in piles and taking a roll for "mommy to have". lol, maybe when they are a bit older! :)

Probably just the reflection when taking the picture of your proofs, but a few of them seem to have the luster of silver. Make sure to check and sound check them to make sure they aren't silver proofs.

For some it might just take time. A year ago my oldest was the same as your nephews. He sparked an interest in coins only about month ago.

Only the 2003-S and the bicentennial could be silver, they only started making silver proofs in the early 1990s (with the exception of the bicentennial).

The bicentennials were the ones that caught my eye :icon_thumright:
