Hello treasure hunters,

I found few coin(one golden and few silver aureus/denarii?) and ring in my garden (East part of the Hungary). Help me to identify which ruler is represented in the coin and what's all about this ring? (probably some kind of roman seal, can't be sure)

Size of the ring: seal part 13mmX16mm, weight 7g;
Coin: 5.2g, 21mm.

Then you are a bigger fool than I first thought. Because I have seen Gold roman rings that would fool most, and they weren't worth squat, and I know they make there way onto ebay .

You missed my edit. If I had it in hand & didn't like it, I would call fool (& use paypal to get my money back). If you are saying, you can't tell in your hand & with weight & die axis etc (in terms of coins, rings are similar). Then you need to get a grip of your hobby. Do you sell your coins on ebay with museum certificates, if you say yes, I cry liar.

This what you posted. Quote. If your thinking of selling it, those that collect these need no proof other than a picture. These people know what they buy

Nothing about having it in the hand, that's what I was referring to.

I don't sell high end coins on ebay, just run of the mill coins.

As for calling me liar...I come to Cambridge on a regular basis.

I didn't call you a liar, my point is, you sell stuff with out museum certificates, & I'm sure you have sold £2000 coins offline, do they ask for certificates?

I sell coins to people who know what they are buying, that have the coin in hand, not from a picture like you said. Why don't you look at what the poster asked.

I saw what they posted, it depends on the motivation for the question, which to me is obivious. My statements still stand.

Which is why he wants to know were to get the ring Authenticated (certificate as he put it) so he can get the best price....which would be in the UK the BM, and would assume be the same, from what ever it is in his country.

I don't disagree with your answering of the question, only that I think those that know do not need it. Plus I have no idea if its even legal to take & record with their Museum, or that it's doesn't cost a huge amount to do via a valuation service.:dontknow:

But you said all that was needed is a picture, come on Cru you know as well as I do you would want a bit more than that...and that's the last I will say about this very nice find, a find that I know we both would love to have found.

Yes I think it's real from the picture and the fact there are other Gold items, but I'm not bidding till I see it, in hand :laughing7:

Ok fellow hunters,

Apart from denarii and few austro-hungarian kreutzers I've managed to find this strange artifact:
00220 (0-00-47-23).png00220 (0-00-58-20).png00220 (0-01-03-22).png00220 (0-01-08-02).png

Judging by few sources from the nets it could be roman tool axe (found similar photo) but i have some doubts about it... it appears that there were Goths here (approx 2-3 century AD), so it might be their artifact. Any thoughts?

PS:

I've sold golden aureus and preparing to sell that ring (got some offers but still... pending). If you interested in the stuff mentioned above (ring, denarii, kreutzers, etc) write me a pm.
