I HAVE BEEN GETTING VERY FAMILIAR WITH MY DFX , GREGG.
I HAVE COME TO A CONCLUSION, NOTHING GOOD COMES FROM VDI#20-29
FROM YOUR EXPERIENCE,HAVE YOU HAD ANY POSITIVE TARGETS IN THE 20S RANGE.

I THINK THE REASON YOU LIKE THE SE IS BECAUSE OF DEPTH.
I AM GOING TO GET ME A SUPER 12 INCH LOOP FOR MY DFX .

Congrats on the gold Gregg and hopefully more will be coming!! Newer Chinese coin too, found a couple in Dayton area down here! Just go slow and listen, and when you need a change, just grab the DFX and ride the clad express!!

Exactly what I did today...picked up over $5 in clad with dfx...

The foreign coin is a Japanese 1 yen. I have about a million of them from when I visited there. The exchange rate will probably put it at less than a penny. Cool coin though.

Thanks! :)

nice hunt gregg ! i also use the numbers on the se

I am starting to rely a little more on sound...but I always take a look at the reading...getting very used to the different tones already.

Congrats on the finds Gregg..............I envy your availability of two power machines!

I also still like the dfx...otherwise it would be gone... I enjoy the differences... I hunt alot so the change helps... My first gold ring with the dfx came in with a very solid signal of 24... I was testing the jewelry/beach program in a park... Because tone id was on automatically...when I found the ring I always kept tone id on after that. The se has tones also...so with using digital and listening to the sounds as others have mentioned...the dfx and se also have some things in common.

One signal for for me on dfx that has never been good...is 22 always a pulltab... But I also remember someone hitting a gold ring at 22...so you never know... Make sure you are accepting 0-10 also...Whites discriminated it out in to many programs.... In tot lots last year I dug every beep...small gold is hiding in that range with the foil...

Also I notice in different soil conditions wheaties falling in different areas with the dfx...normally for me 75...up to 78-79, hit a few last week that were bouncing from 69-72... those have been my lowest wheatie readings with the dfx... In Jeff Fosters book he mentions a wheatie/quarter program...only problem it is not correct! So remember some machines give slightly different readings and soil mineralization...with iron content plays a role. I spoke to a few Whites users that were getting wrap around,,,, where coins were showing up like ferrous readings in the negative range...so once again you never know...

I think dfx...se...learn the sounds...I agree with what a few oothers said here...oh but you are right my se is deeper than my dfx... ;D
