The usual clad with a few surprises today. The gold earring is marked 14k...it was giving a broken signal at 14/6. The foreign coin read a 3/28 to 29 like a dime...your guess as good as mine...Chinese...Japanese???? Oh also a rat token...yeah the Chuckie Cheese mouse..2001... I was using the se for the whole hunt today.

way to go on the wheatie...

Thanks Allen I have been pretty steady with the wheatie finds this year.... First gold of the year...

Kirk the Explorer gives you two numbers the first one indicates ferrous contet second is size. At least I think that's right.

But I know you are a Whites guy so none of that really matters.

We hope you are correct. You are the one swinging the machine, not me. :D

Keep sweeping, man!

Kirk

I like the se...but I still like the dfx also... :) I am giving the se the majority of the hunt time... I would like to figure out the digital numbers for the jewelry on the se....

So are you liking the SE there Greg? I'm trying to save up to buy an SE and sell the Ex II.

Today I got 4 nickels with the se... I think I am starting to really get used to it. The nickels seem to be giving a more solid slower response...while the pulltabs give a very fast rapid response. My nickels have been coming in 9 thru 11/5.

Hello Gregg!
Now, be honest; how many pull tabs does that earring represent? Lol!
Nickels and gold are tough with the SE but, as you have proven, it can be done!
Great job!

The 14 represents ferrous content...the 6 conductivity. Kirk not sure if you have used a digital detector yet ( I am sure you will)...but it is kind of like a Whites digital reading below 0 being ferrous(iron content)/ and above zero non ferrous (or more likely to be a coin).

The Se is already paying for itself. What in the heck is a 14/6? ??? :D

Personally I don't use the numbers I use the graph. But no one can argue your results Greg!

Thanks coming from the digital with the dfx...it is just easier for me to start in digital with se until I get used to the tones as I did with the dfx.

nice hunt gregg ! i also use the numbers on the se

Hey Gregg, a tip for you. If you switch to SMARTFIND -- ALL METAL MODE- IRON MASK-ON @20 you can dig all cursors to the bottom left corner (right of IRON MASK) and upper right corner. Doing so will result in mostly good targets. Better yet, forego the screen altogether and hunt strictly by sound as the ID is not fool-proof IMO.

Congrats on the gold Gregg and hopefully more will be coming!! Newer Chinese coin too, found a couple in Dayton area down here! Just go slow and listen, and when you need a change, just grab the DFX and ride the clad express!!
