During my first hunt of 2016 I was approached by a couple taking a walk. They told me that during Thanksgiving 2015 the Husband had lost his wedding band on the sidelines of the local high school football field. They asked if I thought I could find it with my metal detector and I told them I'd give it a try next weekend weather permitting. The weather was supposed to get cold and the ground was going to freeze so I wasn't too sure if I'd be able to. However as luck would have it, we had several inches of rain and the weather warmed up and I gave it a go. I got rained on, muddied up, and nearly blown away by the wind, but after 2 hours of searching, and many many pull tabs and pieces of aluminum scrap, I was able to find the ring, still right there on the surface!! A phone call and 10 minutes later the ring was in the hands of its owner! An awesome day for me! Enjoy the video and the pics.

Theirs no better feeling when that is done metal detecting. Awesome job

Nice job. From the many finds looks like you hunted the whole field. Yes?

Well done sir.

Great story, awesome finds and a "boat load" of karma! Congratualtions! :occasion14:

Nice job. From the many finds looks like you hunted the whole field. Yes?

Actually, those finds are from the sideline of the football field, to a long jump track, perhaps a 60-70 yard swath, I did about 8 passes or so. I never detected on the playing surface. The amount of finds is probably a result of no one ever detecting it. I do not think I would have dug on the playing field if I hadn't found the ring. Perhaps sticking with only surface finds.

Awesome post. May the karma gods look upon you with delight.

Who doesn't like a happy ending :dontknow:

That was fun to watch!

Fun video. Thanks for sharing.
