Been hunting with an X-Terra 50 for about 2 months now and wondering if there is any consistent signals for gold? I have yet to find a gold ring and when I air test I usually get a 6 or 9 signal (in the field that usually results in pull tabs or foil) but I have read that 18 and 21 are also gold signals? Has anyone noticed a consistant pattern on the signal read outs?

Wow guys was this question just to vague or does no one use the X Terra 50 anymore? Anyone Bueller, Bueller???
??? :
:help:

I have an X-Terra 50. I am at work so do not have my cheat sheet here, and I can't remember what it usually reads for gold since I am not so fortunate to find gold that often. I will post what my readings usually are for you when I get home.

Thanks Junior967 I'm looking forward to checking it out!

Hey Shark.... Looking back at my log book I have had gold hit with 3 different readings. 27, 33, 36. It seems to depend on depth and what size and carat weight of gold you find. But all were steady hits. Hope this helps you out.

Great info! Yikes, I usually pass up 27's because most are clad pennies in poor condition....I guess I will start digging those. Thanks for the response and the info.

I only have found two gold rings so far, but didn't find either one with my X-Terra 50.
I did test them.. one was 10 karat and gave an ID of 9.
The other one was a 14 karat wedding band and gave an ID of 21.
I have a 10 karat class ring and that gives an ID of 27 which is the same as zinc cents.
Hope this helps some,
Felix

Helps big time! I have not been paying much attention to those signals and will from now on. I usually only coin hunt looking for high pitch tones and 33 (penny), 36 (penny pre 1981 & dimes), 39 (penny pre 81, wheats & dimes) , 42 (solid quarter), 45 (silver or several coins) signals but now I will adjust and dig those medium signals. Great stuff guys I appreciate it....
