Not from a shipwreck but can anyone tell me what type of stone this is?

I was on a family vacation last wk. Went Metal Detecting in a lake in NH. Ended up with three gold rings, 1 gold earring, a silver ring and a brass button. Not bad for an hour each day for four days.

One of the rings has a clear stone with green lines. The green is inside the stone! Im thinking amber but just not sure.

Would also love info on the button. Not sure if it is old or not.

Thanks in advance.

The button is a Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) uniform button. The GAR was an organization for Union veterans of the Civil War.

It looked old but everything else I found on that beach was not. Thanks for the info.

From what little we can see of that stone it resembles Fluorite to me. Can we see a better picture?

Here is some Fluorite. Does it look anything like this?
